Newspaper: Reading Times: Sales of Beef in Bulk, 13 Dec 1876, Reading, Berks, PA. 7 A number of Lancaster county butchers, taking advantage of the cold weather, brought large quantities of beef yesterday to Reading which was sold in our markets in bulk, at 9 to 10 cents a pound, the former price for fore, and the latter for hind quarters. They diposed of their beef readily to proprietors of hotels and boarding houses at these figures. Mr. Henry Recay, butcher, of Adamstown, disposed of over 3,000 pounds of beef in bulk. 4.
