Parkton, March 16.-Jesse J. Beeker, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Beeker, this place, and Miss Beulah M. Markle, daughter of Mrs. Alice Markle, Glen Rock, were married at Hereford on Saturday at 4:30 p. m. The ceremony was performed by Rev. B. A. Constance in the Methodist Episcopal parsonage. Following the ceremony they left on honeymoon trip in the South. The bridegroom is a mechanic at Heyde's garage, this place. The bride is an operator in the Glen Rock Bell Telephone company's exchange, in charge of her mother. On their return from the wedding tour they will reside In Glen Rock.

Beulah M. Markel Beeker, formerly of Glen Rock, died at 7:55 am yesterday at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle, Cumberland County. She was 97. Mrs. Beeker retired as a seamstress with the former Savada Brothers Sewing Co. She worked for several local sewing companies. She was also a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in Glen Rock from 1916 to 1925. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Friendly Ladies Sunday school class. She was a member of Daughters of America Golden Rod Council 24, New Freedom, and a former member of South Central York County Senior Center. She moved from Glen Rock to Shrewsbury in 1983. Born in Codorus Township, June 18, 1898, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Henry C. and Alice Wehrly Markel. She was the wife of the late Jesse J. Beeker. She leaves nieces and nephews. Viewing is 10 to 11 am Thursday at Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. The service is at 11 am Thursday at the funeral home with her pastor the Rev Thomas D. Hartley officiating and Vicar Eli Hess assisting. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
