Obituary: Ligonier Echo: obituary of Amabile Sbardella on 7 Jan 1970 in Ligonier, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, USA. ¹ A Requiem Mass will be offered tomorrow for Mrs. Amabile "Mabel" Sbardella of RD 1, New Florence, who died Monday after a seven weeks illness in McGinnis Hospital, Ligonier; she was 88. Rev. Ernest Kish will say the Mass in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Seward; burial, under the direction of Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, will be in Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville. She was born September 28, 1881, in Italy, daughter of Candido & Giovanna Damin, and she was the widow of Jack Sbardella who died in 1936. Two sons, Anthony and Raymond, also predeceased her. Surviving are four sons, Peter of Wanuma, Fla., Edward ("Tedo") of Hayward, Calif., John of Homer City and Louis of RD 1, New Florence; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Sommavilla of Morgantown, W. Va., Mrs. Lillian Beeker of Seward, Mrs. Joanne Piasente of RD 1, New Florence, and Mrs. Justina Luffy of Verona, Allegheny County; 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
