Jane (Rosensteel) Rambo, 83, died peacefully at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Cross Keys Village at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. She was the wife of Ellwood L. Rambo, who preceded her in death on December 11, 2006. The memorial service for Mrs. Rambo will be held in thanksgiving for her life at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2008, at the Nicarry Meeting House of Cross Keys Village, New Oxford, with the Rev. A. Merv Wunderlich officiating. She will be laid to rest at 1 p.m. Monday with her husband in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, Md. Jane was born June 20, 1925, in Gettysburg, a daughter of the late Edmund F. and Hilda M. (Alwood) Rosensteel. She retired as a statistical clerk for Hutzler's Department Store in Baltimore. Jane graduated with the Gettysburg High School Class of 1943. Mrs. Rambo leaves a son, Douglas L. Rambo of Freeland, Md.; a daughter, Melanie N. Gunzelman of Nottingham, Md.; six grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Violet Yount of Moore, S.C. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Todd.
