Bill grew up in the Dow City/Dunlap area where he attended Hanover #5 and Charter Oak High School. He enjoyed time with his brothers as they "hunted" with their BB guns and family sleigh rides but most of his spare time was spent helping with the farm chores. At an early age, Bill enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1955 and served active duty until 1960 when transferred to the reserves. During his active service, Bill served 15 months overseas, mostly in Okinawa, Japan.Bill married Nancie Danielson on May 26, 1978 at the courthouse in Blair, Nebraska. They made their home in Omaha before moving to their acreage south of Valley in the early 1980's.
Bill worked as a truck driver most of his life, spending 27 years hauling fuel for Texaco. He was a gun collector and a champion Rodeo Truck Driver. Bill always had to be busy and enjoyed working around the acreage. He was a witty, intelligent, fun man who loved his family and was proud of his service in the Marines. Bill was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and preferred Country and Gospel music. Bill passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 4 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Roberta. Bill is survived by his wife Nancie; son Curtis of Central City, NE; daughters Tonya Morris of Irvington,NE and Debra Morrissey of Omaha; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. William married Nancie J. Danielson, daughter of Neil Edgar Danielson and Jeanne Irene Talbot, on 26 May 1978 in Blair, Washington, NE, USA.¹ (Nancie J. Danielson was born on 15 Jun 1948 in Kansas City, Jackson, MO and died in 2016 in Omaha, Douglas, NE ².)
