Gibbons, 73, of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Palm Springs, died Aug. 2, 2000, in Twin Falls. She was bom Oct. 1, 1916, to Francis and Essie Gouge Allison in Johnson City, Tenn. She married William J. Gibbons on May 12, 1950. She served as a chief nurse with the rank of lieutenant in the Navy Nurses Corps, until 1951. She worked as a registered nurse and as an administrator for nursing homes in Southern California before retiring in 1984. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Chapton-Frazier of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Patricia of Palm Springs; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services were held in Santa Ana with arrangements under the direction of Brown Colonial Mortuary of Santa Ana. Helen married William Joseph Gibbons Jr., son of William Joseph Gibbons Sr. and Esther Gertrude Beeker, on 12 May 1950.1 (William Joseph Gibbons Jr. was born on 18 Jun 1912 in Chicago, Cook, IL 8 9 10 11 12, christened on 14 Jul 1912 in Chicago, Cook, IL,9 died on 22 Sep 1974 in , Orange, CA 11 12 13 and was buried in Orange: Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange, CA, USA 12 14.) |
