BROOKSTON, Feb. 24 -- Howard T. Brockway, Brookston attorney. died Sunday noon in Home hospital, Lafayette, where he had been a patient for two days, ueatn came following a short illness with a heart ailment. He was 66 years old. The last member of the promin ent, old Brookston family, Mr. Brockway was a loyal i'urdue booster and organizer of several state projects. Among them was the Indiana State Legion band, ol which he was a charter member. He was also a life member of the P-Men's club at Purdue and served as a track official at the university for 37 years. It was mainly through his efforts that state highway 18 was built. He presented the Tippecanoe County Historical Society museum ana iruraue witn com collections. Born at Colfax. 111., he was gradu ated from Brookston high school, and after attending Purdue, gradu-, ated from Indianapolis College of Law in 1911. He later received a bachelor of laws degree from Indiana university. He served as prosecuting attorney of the old 39th Judicial circuit before entering the U. S. Navy during World war I. He was a member of Federated church at Brookston, was' a 32nd degree Mason, belonged to Knights of Pythias, Odd Fellows lodge, James R. Currie American Legion post and served as commander for four terms, also 12 terms as judge advocate of the Second district of Indiana. Mr. Brockway also served as postmaster of Brookston and was one of the community's most active civic leaders. For years he served as. publicity agent for most of Brookston's civic, patriotic, church and other activities, " and also served in this capacity several years for Lafayette's annual horse show. He was regarded as the foremost town "booster" in the area. He never married.

Shigley and Laura Frances Beeker, on 28 Mar 1915 in Logansport, Cass, IN.1 (May Belle Shigley was born on 25 Jul 1890 in Battle Ground, Tippecanoe, IN,5 died on 5 Mar 1956 in Frankfort, Clinton, IN 5 6 7 and was buried on 7 Mar 1956 in Valparaiso: Graceland Cemetery, Porter, IN 5 7.)
