Obituary: Journal and Courier: obituary of Charles Rush on 19 Aug 1920 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, IN, USA. ¹ Charles Rush, an estimable fermer living three miles south of Otterbein, died shortly before midnight Wednesday at St. Elizabeth hospital, where he had been taken in the afternoon. Death resulted from complications following a seriou attack of influenza last April.
Mr. Rush was born near Otterbein on May 28, 1866, having resided all of his life near the place of his birth. On November 17, 1897, he was married to Miss Carrie E. Bender, who survives with two sons, Charles H. and Fred A., and one daughter, Wilma L., all residing at home. He also leaves two brothers, George and Wilber, of Otterbein, and two sisters, Mrs. Alvin Cantrell, of Otterbein, and Mrs. Pearl Brose, of this city.
Mr. Rush was a member of the Methodist church at Otterbein and one of the prominent men of that community.
Short services will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and at 3:00 o'clock at the M. E. church at Otterbein, Revs. Taylor and McNeary officiating. Interment in Pond Grove cemetery.
