Mrs. Elsie M. Williamson Slocum, 86, of 201 W. Stadium St., West Lafayette, died at 2 a.m. today in her home, following a short illness. She was a native and life resident of West Lafayette. She worked for several years at Southworth's Gift Shop. Mrs. Slocum was a member of the Federated Church. She was married in 1911 in West Lafayette to Paul B. Slocum who died in 1937. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Virginia) Huff of Decatur, 111.; Mrs. Floyd (Anne) Button of West Lafayette, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Burch of Pittsburgh, Pa.


Elsie married Paul Beeker Slocum Sr., son of Leroy Chase Slocum Sr. and Flora Virginia Beeker, on 4 Aug 1911 in Danville, Vermilion, IL.1 (Paul Beeker Slocum Sr. was born on 18 Nov 1886 in Hutchinson, Reno, KS,1 4 died on 9 Apr 1938 in South Wheatland Township, Macon, IL 1 4 and was buried on 26 Apr 1938 in Lafayette: Spring Vale Cemetery, Tippecanoe, IN 1 4.)
