Mrs. Ella Stair, widow of Albert Stair, 1104 Ferry street, died at 7 o'clock Monday night at St. Elizabeth hospital. She was born near Ash Grove, January 17, 1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith. She was married twice, her first husband being James Logan [note: should be James Lyon]. In 1883 she married Albert Stair, and resided in the vicinity of Buck Creek until a year ago when she moved to Lafayette. She was a member of the Buck Creek M. E. church and the Buck Creek Chapter of Eastern Star. Four children survive: Mrs. Charles T. Foster, of Hood River, Ore.; Svlvia Stair, of Washington, D. C: Ross Stair, of Buck Creek, and Mrs. Carl Eckhart, of Lafayette. The body was taken to the Rogers & Smith funeral home.

Alice married James M. Lyon. (James M. Lyon was born on 28 Feb 1859,² died on 24 Mar 1881 ² and was buried in Washington Township: North Union Cemetery, Tippecanoe, IN, USA ².)
