Everyone was born in Indiana. Josiah's father was born in Ohio and mother in Maryland. Melinda's father was born in Pennsylvania and mother in Indiana.

2. Census in 1900 in Hoopeston, Vermilion, IL. ⁴ The 1900 census recorded Charles Reynolds, farmer, 27, born Aug 1873, living with wife Ellen, 26, Aug 1874; son Roy E., 2, Mar 1898; employee Ed Duncan, farm laborer, 21, Oct 1879, and servant Bertha Cox, 19, Dec 1881. Roy, Charles and his parents were born in Illinois. Ellen and her parents were born in Indiana. Charles and Ellen were married 5 years and she had birthed 3 children, 1 alive in 1900.

3. Obituary: Palm Beach Post: obituary of Mrs. Ellen Reynolds on 5 Feb 1952 in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, FL. ² REYNOLDS, MRS. ELLEN. Mrs. Reynolds, 77, 616 N. J St., Lake Worth, died at a local hospital Monday afternoon after a short illness.
A winter visitor for the last four years, Mrs. Reynolds' home was in Danville, Ill., where she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Christian Science Church. Survivors include her husband, Charles B. Reynolds, Lake Worth and Danville, Ill., a son, H. E. Reynolds, Indianapolis, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Jones, Riverside, Ill., Mrs. Mable Brown, Chicago; and Mrs. Ira Schloe, Port Crane, NY; also five grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be at Danville. The Earl Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
