He was stricken with illness last March, but he managed to be about the house and farm regularly until Tuesday of this week, when he was suddenly overcome with some kind of a stomach complaint that left him weak and helpless, and thereafter he declined very rapidly. He was aged 75 years. We was a member of the German Baptist church, and was held in high esteem by hosts of people in the city of Lebanon who knew him, and others in the country districts with whom he enjoyed a wide acquaintance He sold many of his farm products in the city, and thus became widely known, and since he was born and raised in the district where he made his home all his life, he was known far and wide in the agricultural region to the south of the city. George Bucher, of Quarryville, Pa., Christian Bucher, residing near Rexmont, are brothers, and Mrs. Susan Gingrich, of Cleona, and Mrs. John Kettering, of Palmyra, are sisters.
