Mrs. Josephine Pruitt Dies After Illness of Two Years.
---
Death ended a two years' illness for Mrs. Josephine Pruitt, wife of Rev. Alonzo Pruitt, 2611 South Cedar street, when she passed away at a Sioux City hospital Wednesday night.
Mrs. Pruitt, who had lived in the northwestern Iowa district of the Methodist Episcopal church since 1891, was born at Geneseo, Ill., March 6, 1860. When she was 12 years old, she located in Kansas with her family.
On September 17, 1881, she was married to Rev. Mr. Pruitt at Beloit, Kan. They lived there for 10 years, at the end of which time they moved to Little Sioux. Ia. Two years ago Rev. and Mrs. Pruitt moved to Sioux City, where they had resided since.
Mrs. Pruitt was a member of the Methodist church at Sloan, la., the Order of the Eastern Star at Irwin, la., and the Rebekah lodge at Stewart, la. Surviving her are her widower; three daughters Mrs. J. F. Adams, Webster City. Ia.; Mrs. H. P. Grant, Salem, Ore.; Mrs. R. B. Cannon, of Sioux City, and one son, Dwight I. Pruitt, also of Sioux City.
Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 p. m. Friday. Rev. C. H. Kamphoefner will officiate, and interment will be in Graceland Park cemetery. W. Harry Christy is the undertaker in charge.
