2. Obituary: Sioux City Journal: obituary of Mrs. Amis H. Pruitt on 27 Jan 1959 in Sioux City, Woodbury, IA. 2 Funeral services for Mrs. Amis H. Prultt, 79, former Smithland resident who died Friday at Lynwood, Cal., will be at 3 p. m. Wednesday at the Smithland Methodist church. Rev. Lawrence Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the Smithland cemetery under direction of the Willman funeral home.
Mrs. Pruitt was born near Smithland January 17, 1880. She was married to William Parker December 30, 1907. He was killed in action in world war 1.
She was married to Rev. Alonzo Pruitt in 1931. Rev. Mr. Pruitt died in 1945 and Mrs. Pruitt had made her home in California since that time.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Audrey Evans of Lynwood; three sons, Milburn Parker of Missoula, Mont., Basil Parker of Smithland and Ronald Parker of Sioux City; a twin sister, Avis, and seven grandchildren.
