WANATAH, IN Donald L. "Swingbelly" Campbell, 77 of Wanatah passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014. He was born on February 14, 1937 in Enfield, IL to Uhel & Sarah (Sanders) Campbell. He made his career as an Ironworker with Local #395 in Hammond. He was a member of the Kingsbury Masonic Lodge & Scottish Rite of South Bend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodcarving, but endeared himself most widely with his ability to mesmerize any gathering with his storytelling. On July 11, 1953 he married Louanna "Patsy" Thomas who survives along with their children: Tony (Linda) Campbell of Ingelside, TX, Karen (C.W.) Ratcliff of Hamlet, IN, Sharon Collins (Paul Christie) of Mansfield, IL, Terry (Jon) Taylor of Abbeville, NC; siblings: Alice Hall of Perkins, OK, U.E., "Junior" Campbell of Wanatah, IN, Phyllis Dotter of Wellston, OK, Marlena Hodson of Carney, OK, Lenard Campbell of LaCrosse, IN; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Wesley & Allen Dale Campbell. A visitation will be held Saturday from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home , 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with funeral service beginning at 7:00 p.m. and cremation to follow.
