1. Obituary: Charlotte News: obituary of Robert W. Butler on 20 Aug 1979 in Charlotte, Mecklenburg, NC. ⁶ Services for Robert W. Butler, 50, were held today at 11 a.m. at Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Burial and graveside services were to be at 2 p.m. at Cool Springs Cemetery in Forest City. Butler, of 5309 Wilora Lake Road, died Saturday at Hawthorne Nursing Center. He was a General Motors employee for 23 years and was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mary Catherine; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Butler of Morganton; one daughter, Cathy of Charlotte; one son, John of Charlotte; one sister, Ann of Forest City; and three brothers, Charles and Steve, both of Forest City, and Joe of Charlotte. Friends may send memorials to the Mecklenburg Community Health Association or to Eastern Hills Baptist Church. McEwen Funeral Home is in charge.
