Census in 1870 in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster, PA. 2 Jeremiah Bicher appears in the 1870 Census in Brecknock Township as a 22-year old farm laborer living on the farm owned by Samuel Keiffer, age 59 and his wife Susan, 58, and their daughter, Elizabeth, 17. Samuel's real estate was valued at $3500 and his personal estate $1486. The post office was Bowmansville.
Next door is the widow Elizabeth Keifer, 60, with her daughter Eliza, 25. Also in the home is Isaac Keifer, shoemaker, 66. Elizabeth's real estate was valued at $750 and personal estate $577.
[note: Jeremiah Bicher married Elizabeth Keiffer and her PA death certificiate states her father was Moses Kieffer and mother Elizabeth Lesher. Moses was the brother of Isaac Samuel and died in 1847. His wife is the widow Elizabeth and her daughter Eliza married Jeremiah soon after the 1870 census was recorded. ].
