Michael Lee Beecher, 46, of Corona pleaded guilty Oct. 7 in Norwalk Superior Court to nine counts of child molestation. He was arrested March 18.
The molestations, which included oral sex and fondling, took place at Foster Road Elementary School in La Mirada over a six-month period last year, authorities said. The girl now attends another school, Deputy Dist. Atty. Hilda Weintraub said.
Beecher taught sixth and seventh grade at Foster Road and Nottingham elementary schools during his seven years with the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District. He resigned soon after he was arrested.
