At a lovely candlelight ceremony Saturday evening, at 7:30 o'clock, in Giles Boulevard United Church, the Rev. Gordon W. Butt united in marriage Miss Margaret Edythe Atchison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Atchison of Windsor avenue, and Mr. Charles W. Woolpert, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Woolpert of Highland Park, Michigan. White snapdragons and chrysanthemums formed a background for the ceremony. Entering the church on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage, the bride was lovely in traditional bridal white satin, her fitted gown featuring long sleeves. Candlelight Ceremony at Giles Weds February 7 a round neckline outlined with white sequins and a skirt extending into a train. Her veil covered the train of her gown and was held to her head in a beaded tiara, and she carried white chrysanthemums around pale pink roses.
MATRON OF HONOR
Mrs. Wayne Buckley of Detroit, the bridegrooms sister, as matron of honor, wore rose moire, fashioned with a bouffant skirt and long sleeves. In her hair she wore a matching plume, and she carried white chrysanthemums and yellow roses. Miss Geraldine Smith, as bridesmaid, wore aqua moire, similarly styled, but with short, puffed sleeves, and a matching feather in her hair. Her flowers were yellow chrysanthemums and Talisman roses. Marlene Atchison, as her sisters flower girl, was adorable in a rose moire frock with a long, full skirt and short, puffed sleeves. She carried a nosegay of white chrysanthemums. and wore similar flowers in her hair. Mr. Ray Bassett of Cannington was best man, and the ushers were Mr. Buckley of Detroit and Mr. Jack Atchison, a brother of the bride. A reception in the church parlors followed, after which Mr. and Mrs. Woolpert left for a trip in Michigan, the bride traveling in a blue tweed coat over a royal blue crepe frock, and wearing a wine hat and accessories. They will live in Big Rapids, Michigan.
