Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Victory of this city announce the marriage of their daughter, Virginia, to G. W. Smith, also of this city, the ceremony having taken place November 20 at the home of the Rev. M. M. Ayers, pastor of Westvue Baptist church, on Battle avenue. The bride wore a sports dress of blue wool, blue accessories and chrysanthemums in a shoulder bouquet. The only attendants were the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Travis. Mr. and Mrs. Smith will make their home In Buena Vista, Virginia, where he Is employed.

The funeral will be held at 330 pm Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Jim Fraley officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm today and from 2 pm until service time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, is in charge of arrangements. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, enjoyed bowling, her senior citizen friends and world travel. She is survived by a son, Charles W. Smith, Clarksville; daughters, Carolyn Smith (Larry) Payne, Murfreesboro, Connie Smith (Henry) Van Dyke, Greer, S.C., Cathy (Joel) Smith-Guinn, Nashville; brother, Tom Victory, Virginia; six grandchildren, Bret Smith, Stacy Smith Segovia, Jessica Gallman, Emily Watrous, Laura Nedd, Jolie Guinn; great grandchildren, Connor Wheatley, Josh Gall-man, Georgia and Elvis Smith, Lauren and Ashley Watrous and Hunter Nedd. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Smith, who died in 1990 and, brothers and sisters, James F. Victory, J.W. "Red" Victory, Clifford E. Victory and Gilbert L. Victory, Cornelia Travis and Annie Bell Hi-rama. Family and friends will be pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the St. Clair Senior Citizens Center or Temple Baptist Church.
