Horst, 82, Ephrata R3, died Friday at the Ephrata Nursing Home after an illnes of two weeks. He was the husband of the late Annie S. Stauffer Horst who died in 1969. Born in West Earl Township, he was the son of the late John N. and Amelia Z. Hoover Horst. He was a member of the Old Order Stauffer Mennonite Church in Earl Township. He is survived by six sons: Roy S. Horst, Selinsgrove; David S. Horst, Mount Pleasant Mills; Levi S. Horst, New Holland R1; Carmi S. Horst, Ephrata R3, with whom he resided; Curvin S. Horst, Stevens R2; Marlin S. Horst, Tunas, Mo.; two daughters, Suetta Showalter and Mrs. Marian Zimmerman, both of Mount Pleasant Mills; 85 grandchildren; two brothers, Amos H. Horst, Rothsville and Melvin H. Horst Gordonville; and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Martin, Richland and Martha H. Horst, Leola. Services were held on Tuesday at the late home with further services held at the Old Order Stauffer Mennonite Church, Route 322, Earl Township. Interment followed in the adjoining church cemetery. The Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth St., Akron, was in charge of arrangements.
