Lee Greever, devoted husband and father, peacefully passed from our loving arms to the loving arms of Jesus on April 23, 2022. Born in Atlanta, Ga. on December 12, 1942, he was the son of the late Albert Sidney Greever and Vern Brown Greever. He lovingly declared his greatest earthly treasure was Janet Ohlsson Greever and his greatest earthly accomplishment was their loving marriage of nearly 54 years. He was the father of three amazing living children: Jonathan Greever, Joanna Greever Beeker, and Susanna Greever and was the grandfather of five gifted grandchildren: Matthew, Sarah, Sam, Olivia, and Lucy Lee. His educational accomplishments included graduating from Northside High School in Atlanta, Ga., earning a BA Art at Yale University (1965), and earning a MFA at Syracuse University (1980). His professional career included Campus Staff for Campus Crusade for Christ and Instructor to Associate Professor of Communication Design for 36 years at Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg, Va. He entered into the assurance of a relationship with Jesus Christ as a freshman at Yale in 1961. Since then, he attempted to follow Christ as His sheep for 60 years. He had a passion for ministry and that included Founding Elder of Grace Covenant Church and Continuing Elder at Cornerstone Community Church, Founding Member of the Lynchburg Chapter of Compassionate Friends, and Chaplain at Canaveral Port Ministry in Cape Canaveral, Fla. for the last 16 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Sidney Greever Jr. and Vern Brown Greever; as well as his older sister, Elizabeth "Bette" Lawler. He is survived by his wife; children; grandchildren; son-in-law Walton Beeker; daughter-in-law, Marissa Greever; sister, Naomi Levison; brothers-in-law Ronald Levison and John Ohlsson; nieces, Beth Hagewood, Stacey Collins, Andrea Cunningham, Christina Gray; and nephews, John Hagewood and Eric Levison. A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Baptist Church Merritt Island, Fla. on Monday, May 16, 2022. Family visitation to begin at 2:30 p.m. with service beginning at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, it was Lee's desire that contributions be made to Canaveral Port Ministry, 8907 N Atlantic Avenue, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920.
