Parsons, section foreman, 55, living with wife Cora, 46; Mary E., sales lady in department store, 21; and Thomas C., paper boy, 16. All were born in Alabama except Cora in North Carolina. 3. Obituary: Atlanta Constitution: obituary of Mary Parsons Gray on 16 Mar 1998 in Atlanta, Fulton, GA. 3 Mrs. Mary Parsons Gray, 79 of Atlanta, died Sunday, March 15, 1998. She was the widow of the late Herbert H. Gray, Jr. Mrs. Gray was a native of Jefferson County, Alabama and a descendant of early Jefferson County settlers. She graduated from Birmingham-Southern College and taught in the Fairfield, Alabama Public Schools during World War II. She later worked as a social worker for the American Red Cross in Nashville and Chattanooga. The majority of her adult life was spent as a home-maker raising and caring for her family. She was especially devoted to her three granddaughters. She is survived by daughter in-law and two sons, Leah and Herbert H. Gray, III and Thomas Parsons Gray, all of Atlanta; a brother, Charles Thomas Parsons of Hoover, Alabama and three grandduaghters. The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 17, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill, 1020 Spring Street, Atlanta, Reverend Peter Gorday, officiating. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 1998 at Spring Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her memory to Birmingham-Southern College, 900 Arkadelphia Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35254. Arrangements by H M.
