Levey has no real estate value and personal estate worth $300, but his wife Sarah has real estate valued at $600, suggesting they are living on land her family owned. Also in the home is Sarah's mother, Susan Kepley, 72. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Minersville. The census was recorded on 17 Aug 1870.

Census in 1900 in Mount Carmel, Northumberland, PA. ⁹ The 1900 census recorded at 27 Oak Street: Lemi HIlbert, 29, born Feb 1871, living with wife Edith, 26, Oct 1874; daughter Ruth, 3, Sep 1897; and boarder Sophie Bucher [Beecher], 26, Feb 1874. The couple had been married 5 years and given birth to one child. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Next door is Edith's father, Hiram Beecher, with his wife Etta and son William.

Hilbert, of Third and Chestnut streets, is the proud possessor of a sulphur diamond which measures forty-six and one half square inches. It is less than one eight of an inch thick. The diamond is one of the largest ever secured in the mines, and Mr. Hilbert is exhibiting it to numbers of friends.

LEWIS J. HILBERT DIED LAST NIGHT IN COUNTY HOSPITAL

Lewis Jay Hilbert of this city, an employe of the Central California Gas company for the past 17 years, died in the Tulare county hospital last evening after a six weeks' illness with influenza. Deceased, aged 56 years, was a native cf Pennsylvania and had resided in this city for the past 18 years. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Edith Hilbert, and the following-named children: Mrs. George Rogers. Visalia: Mrs. Hubert Moore, Vallejo: Lewis Hilbert, John Hilbert. Nellie Hil-Urt. James Hubert. Marjorie Hilbert and Mrs. Tom Davis of Visalia; and one sister, Mrs. Emma Gulong of Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be conducted fiom Hadley and Locey's parlors at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Rev. J. A Johnson in charge. Interment will be in the city cemetery.
