Obituary: Evansville Press: obituary of Ewel O'Daniel on 23 Jul 1996 in Evansville, Vanderburgh, IN. ⁶ Ewel Vincent O'Daniel, 82, of Douglas, Ga., brother of Clarice O'Daniel of Evansville, died July 18 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Alma, Ga. Mr. O'Daniel was a former vice president and general manager of a movie theater chain, an Army veteran and a former professional boxer. Also surviving are his wife, Imogene, daughters Lee Ann Bedford of Douglas, Ga., and Frances Faye Byard of Ellicott City, Md.; sisters Margie Gordon of Evansville and Ruth Tatum of Montgomery, Ala.; a grandson Joey Arvidson and granddaughters Jennifer and Stephanie Beecher and Debbie Karen and Vickie Byard. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Ga., Rev Herbert Box officiating.
