Native of Holland and War Veteran Was in Libby Prison
Bernard Huls, aged 85 years and 9 months, died at his late home, 321 Locust street, at 7.45 last night of general debility. He was born in Holland, and came to America at the age of 22. He engaged in the Civil War with Company K, 54th Pennsylvania Infantry. He was confined in Libby Prison, having been captured by the Confederates. He is survived by his widow, Hannah (nee Feeney), a son, John Huls; three daughters, Mary, wife of Max Gruber; Lizzie, wife of James Kutz, and, Minnie Huls. Funeral services will be held in St. Paul's Catholic church on Tuesday at 9 a. m. Interment in Catholic cemetery. Undertaker Kern.
