Obituary: Public Opinion: obituary of Carl Bohn on 30 Nov 2008 in Chambersburg, Franklin, PA. ¹ Carl Bohn Carl Bohn, 82, of 615 South Second Street, Chambersburg, PA died at 1:25 PM Thursday, November 27, 2008 in Hospital. Born January 29, 1926 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Raymond and Hazel M. Bohn. Carl was employed as a truck driver at Letterkenny Army Depot. He was a member of The Open Door Church, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, the Goodwill Fire Company, and the Goodwill Fire Company Band, all in Chambersburg.
He coached youth in the Nellie Fox League for many years and enjoyed canoeing, fishing, hunting, and rose gardening. Carl was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Miami Dolphins. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce K. Lawyer Bohn, whom he married May 16, 1986; four stepchildren, Barbara Tedrick and husband Randy of Chambersburg, Edward Woodal of Ft. Loudon, Beth Monn of St. Thomas, and Becky Shields and husband Carl of Chambersburg; fourteen step-grandchildren; and fourteen step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a step-son-in-law, Melvin Gilbert of Fayetteville, a brother, Ray Bohn and wife Josephine; a niece, Susan Wolford and husband Gene; and a nephew, Robert Bohn and wife Mary, all of York, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Jody Beecher, a brother, Donald H. Bohn; a niece, Linda Bohn Plush; and two infant step-great-grandchildren. Services and interment in Parklawns Memorial Gardens will be private.
