1. Census in 1850 in New Hanover Twp., Montgomery, PA. 5 Jeremiah Bucher, shoemaker, 19, was living single in the household of John Schnell, shoemaker, 33, his wife Rachel, 333, and their children. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

Next door was Matthias Buchert, 68, living in the home of John Pugh, farmer, 47, and his wife Sarah [Matthias' daughter?], 44; and children: Sarah Ann,10; John Henry, 7; Washington, 5; Samuel Lane, 4. Also in the home: Sarah Reifsnyder, 15. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

Two pages later on page 172 is Jesiah Buchert, farmer, 29, with wife Susanna, 25; Precilla, 4; Ezekias, 3; son Sando, 1; also 18-year old Elizabeth Berryman. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. His real estate was valued at $4,500.
