Also with them: Lucy Daum, 35; and John Riedy, 65. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. Henry's farm was worth $4,500.

2. Census in 1860 in Letterkenny Twp., Franklin, PA. 5 Hen Flickinger, farmer, 69, was living with wife Sarah, 61; Richard, farm hand, 26; Hen, farm hand, 24; Jesse, teacher, 21; Kate, 16; and Wm, 14. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. Henry's farm was worth $5,000, his personal estate $1,300. Next door is Joe Flickinger, day laborer, 39, with his wife S. A., 23; and daughter M. F. 3.

Henry Flickinger, second son of John, grandson of Johannes, was born Sept. 24, 1792 at Reinholds, Lancaster county, Pa. He was a soldier in the war with England in 1812. He was a miller and a faithful member of the Mennonite or River Brethren church; one that was founded by the Protestant German farmers of Pennsylvania during the period of the Revolution.

Henry married Sarah Bucher, b. Dec 24, 1798. After 1850 they moved from Lancaster to Franklin county, Pa. They died, Henry at 70, Nov. 20, 1863; and Sarah, at 81 Jan 7., 1879. Both bd at Pleasant Hall, Franklin county. (Note: see the book for 7 pages about their children.).


Henry married Sarah Bucher, daughter of Jacob Bucher and Catherine Rub, on 25 Jan 1820 in Reading: Trinity Lutheran Church, Berks, PA. (Sarah Bucher was born on 24 Dec 1798 in Cocalico Twp., Lancaster, PA,2 died on 7 Jan 1879 in Letterkenny Twp., Franklin, PA 2 and was buried in Letterkenny Twp.: Pleasant Hall Cemetery, Franklin, PA 2.)
