6. Obituary: Detroit Free Press: obituary of Herman Cleveland Reutter on 11 Nov 1935 in Detroit, Wayne, MI. 6 The Rev. R. E. Charles, of Epiphany Episcopal Church, will conduct the services for Herman Cleveland Reutter, of 102 S. Kitchener Ave., in the John E. DeKay Funeral Home, 10549 E. Jefferson Ave., at 2 p. m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with Kilwinning Lodge. F. & A. M. of which he was a member, conducting the rites at the grave.
Mr. Reutter, widely known as an old newsboy of the Goodfellows, died Saturday after a long illness. He was born in Kitchner, Ont., July 31, 1886, and had lived here since infancy. For many years he was credit manager of the old Newcomb Endicott Co. Shortly after the firm was absorbed by the J. L. Hudson Co., failing health forced his retirement from business.
For many years he sold papers for Goodfellows on their annual sale, at Grand River and Woodward Aves. This year his son Jack, in the credit department of the J. L. Hudson Co., will seek permission of the Goodfellows to occupy his father's post at the annual sale.
Mr. Reutter formerly was a member of the Detroit Yacht Club, and was a member of Epiphany Church and the Credit Men's Association.
In addition to his son, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Loraine Beacher: a brother Albert, former member of the Legislature, and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Boudrie, Mrs. Mae Burch Detroit. and Mrs. Olive Spencer, all of Detroit.
