Obituary: The Sentinel: obituary of Grace Davidson on 16 Jan 1974 in Carlisle, Cumberland, PA. 5 Mrs. Grace H. Davidson, 84, Centerville, widow of W. Blain Davidson, died yesterday morning in Carlisle Hospital. She was born Dec. 4, 1889 in Cumberland County, the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Hefflefinger Hartman. She was a school teacher for 26 years, having taught at Beetem's School, Centerville Elementary School, and Shady Grove School, before retiring in 1955. For many years Mrs. Davidson served as Centerville correspondent for the Carlisle Evening Sentinel, the Newville Valley-Times, and the Shippensburg News-Chronicle. She was a member of the Centerville Lutheran Church, the Busy Workers, and the Missionary Society of the church. She was a teacher in the Sunday School for more than 50 years and was a member of the Kings Servants Class of the Sunday School. She was a member of the Alumni Assn. of Millersville State Normal School from which she graduated in 1910. She was also a member of the Penna. State Retired Teachers Assn. and the Cumberland County Retired Teachers Assn. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Charlotte) Gebhart, RD1, Newville, and Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Beecher, Dickinson, Pa.; seven grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. in the G. Book Roth Funeral Home, Walnut Bottom Road at Belvedere Street. The Rev. Donald M. Bohn, pastor, Greencastle Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Rev. Glenn T. Hafer, vice-pastor, Centerville Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Centerville Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday evening at the funeral home.
