Funeral services for William J. Dewees, 51, veteran employe of the Southern Pennsylvania Bus Co., will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. from the funeral home of John L. Clancy, 9th and Upland sts.
Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery. friends may call this evening. Mr. Dewees died suddenly of a heart attack Monday noon, while making his rounds checking loading points on bus routes.
He had joined the old traction company, predessor of the bus company, before the First World War, and worked his way from the shop to trolley motoring and finally to bus operation. When his health failed about four years ago, he was transferred to checking bus loads.
He was widely known for his vast collection of trolley photographs, about 5000 of them from virtually every country which used that type of transportation. His collection was one of the outstanding among members of the National Railway Historical Association, which he joined many years ago. He also was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; three sons, William, James, and John, at home, and a daughter, Mrs. Georgana Beecher, of Rutledge; his mother, Ms. William Dewees, of 10th st and Edgmont av.; three brothers and a sister.
The brothers, all of Chester, are Thomas, Horace and John. The sister is Mrs. Mary Dooley, of Garden City.


William married Anna M. Wolfe. (Anna M. Wolfe was born about 1901 in , , Pennylvania, USA,1 2 died on 6 Feb 1966 in Chester, Delaware, PA 2 and was buried on 9 Feb 1966 in Linwood: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Delaware, PA 2.)
