Thomas Lee Beeker, 75, of 139 Taylor Mobile Home Park died Friday morning at 10:10 o'clock in a local hospital, following six and one-half years of declining health and two weeks of critical illness.
A native of Rowan County, Mr. Beeker was the son of the late John Henry and Annie Hill Beeker. He was the husband of Mrs. Jennie Smith Beeker of the home, who survives, and was a retired Duke Power substation operator. He was a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son, Eddie Beeker of Richmond, Va; four brothers, Will Beeker, John Beeker and Gus Beeker all of Cleveland, and Henry Beeker of Durham; five sisters, Mrs. Mae Childress of Mooresville, Mrs. Ernest Kendrick of Charlotte, Mrs. Harold Porter of Salisbury, Mrs. Ben Lentz of Rockwell, and Mrs. Clyde Hartman of Kannapolis; and one grandson.
Final rites will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. The Rev. John Eliason, pastor of Piedmont Presbyterian Church, will conduct the service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The body will remain at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington through the service. The family will be at the mortuary tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock.
