Curtis passed peacefully, embraced by his wife of 53 years, Sue (Leedy) Nutt, and their four children, Bradley Nutt, Bryan Nutt, Ellen Holland and Tim Nutt. Curtis Nutt was born April 13, 1937, in Miami County. He graduated from Mexico High School in 1955. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a farmer and a Chrysler retiree. Curtis was an active member and trustee of the Mexico First Brethren Church and involved with the tractor club Pioneer Power of North Central Indiana. He enjoyed spending time with his family, tractors and antiques and tinkering with mechanical and electrical devices in his shop at home. Some of his most prized projects included his Model T car, his Cushman scooter and his hit-and-miss engine ice-cream maker. Curtis also loved his little dog, Jake, who during Curtis's last days hardly left his side. Curtis is survived by his wife, Sue Nutt; his four children and their spouses, Bradley Nutt, Bryan and Brenda Nutt, Ellen and Mike Holland and Tim and Devan Nutt; 19 grandchildren and their spouses, Natalie and Brandon Hall, Jared Nutt, Chrisie Caudill, Craig Nutt, Cale Nutt, Kayla and Dusty Mohr, Megan Holland, Cory Holland, Nicole Donaldson, Alaura Nutt, Madisyn Nutt, Linzie Nutt, Charlyse Nutt, Timothy Nutt, James Nutt, Karly Nutt, Daniel Nutt, Isaiah Nutt and Silas Nutt; and five great-grandchildren, Trey Mettler, Jace Hall, Madilyn Hall, Blake Nutt and Peytynn Holland. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Viola Nutt, and his brother, Wayne Beecher. Viewing and funeral services will be held at the Flowers Leedy Funeral Home in Peru. Viewing services will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash-Miami County Home Healthcare and Hospice.
