He was a son of the late Henry Beck and Amanda Bates Beck and was a lifelong resident of the Jerusalem church section. Surviving are three sons, C. W. and G. H. Beck of Route 4, Mocksville, and T. C. Beck of Greensboro; a daughter, Mrs. Sam Cable of Mocksville, Route 4; three brothers, D. E., H. H., J. B., all of Mocksville, Route 4; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Jerusalem Baptist church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Rev. E. W. Turner and Rev. C. L. Andrews will officiate. William married Sarah Elizabeth Beeker, daughter of Unknown and Mary M.
