Mary Love was born November 2, 1920 in Haywood County, Canton, NC, the oldest of five sisters born to the late Lucius and Nora Ella Curtis. She worked at Lorillard Tobacco for twenty-six years and retired in 1986. She was a member of Pomoma Baptist Church, later known as Clifton Road Baptist for over twenty years and after retirement, she and her late husband, Joseph Rufus Love, moved to Florida Street Baptist Church. She attended Southside Baptist Church for the last five years. She is survived by a son, Stephen Wayne Love of Greensboro and two daughters, Joetta Jane and son-in-law, Eddie Beeker of Bremen, GA and Lisa Karen Love of Madison, NC, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Sarah and husband, Dawson Dixon of Virginia Beach and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Rufus Love and three sisters, Reba Coffee, Edna Henson and Rochelle Robinson. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 21 at 11 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road with Rev. Patrick Fuller of Southside Baptist church officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service.
