McCoy, a 52-year resident of Tarrytown, died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, in Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, where he was a volunteer for the past 10 years. He was 86. He was born April 4, 1912, in Erie, Pa., to Frederick and Camille Clarke McCoy. Mr. McCoy graduated from Warren High School in Pennsylvania, attended Notre Dame University and earned his bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1934. On June 5, 1939, he married Mary Elizabeth Riehl in Church of the Assumption in Pittsburgh. The couple lived in Pittsburgh before moving to New York in 1944. Mr. McCoy was a mechanical engineer with Ebasco Services in New York City for 38 years until he retired in 1984. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Transfiguration in Tarrytown, president of its Parish Council, minister extraordinary of the Eucharist, lector and longtime member of the choir. Mr. McCoy also was a pioneer member of The Old Mill Singers. He was an avid bridge player, his family said. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, John C. Jr. of New City, Col. Richard C. of Warner Robins, Ga., and Robert C. of North Attleboro, Mass.; a daugh ter, Linda M. Pejkovic of Yorktown Heights; a twin brother, Frederick of North Carolina; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be today and tomorrow evening at Dwyer Funeral Home in Tarrytown. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Transfiguration. Burial will be in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 149 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10016.
