1. Obituary: Sunday News: Herbert G. Bowers Dies at Gettysburg on 29 May 1955 in Lancaster, Lancaster, PA. 1 Herbert G. Bowers, 66, died at 4 a. m. today at his home, Gettysburg R2, from a heart condition which ho had been suffering from for tho past year. A native of Adama County he was a son of the lata John and Lillian Becher Bowers. He had been employed by tho Gettysburg Furniture Company and the Keystone Cabinet Co Littlestown, as a furniture worker. He had been a member of the U. S. Army in 1911, serving in foreign countries for four years. Ho was a member of the Blue and Gray Band, Gettysburg, and belonged to the Four Square Gospel Church. Surviving are his wife, Annio Shindledecker Bowers; two children, Mrs. Bernard Stonesifer and John C. Bowers, both of Gettysburg R1; four grandchildren; and three sisters: Mrs. larry Crouse, Gettysburg R2 and Mrs. Allen Benedict and Mrs. Paul Me-Master, both of York.
