Newspaper: Racine Journal: Radcliffe-Hewitt Wedding, 12 Jul 1882, Racine, Racine, WI. 1 Tuesday Evening Mr. Harry Radcliffe, of Rockford, Ill., was united in marriage to Miss Emily Hewitt, an estimable young lady of this city, Rev. Mr. Clithero officiating. The young couple will make their home in Rockford, and have the best wishes of all for the future welfare.

Census in 1900 in Racine, Racine, WI. 5 The 1900 census recorded at 412 12th Street: Henry Radcliffe [sic], time keeper, 53, born May 1847, living with wife Emily, 36, Jun 1864; Genevieve I., 13, Jul 1886; Herbert C., 1, Sep 1898; and sister-in-law Winifred Hewitt, 46, Feb 1854. Henry and Emily were married for 16 years and she had birthed 2 children by 1900. Henry, his parents, Emily's parents, and Winifred and her parents were born in England. Emily, Genevieve and Herbert were born in Wisconsin. Henry immigrated in 1873 and Winifred in 1880.

Obituary: Journal Times: obituary of Henry Ratcliffe on 5 Dec 1903 in Racine, Racine, WI. 4 Henry Ratcliife, one of the best known residents of the city died at his home, 1417 Wisconsin street, at 1:25 o'clock this morning of cancer of the stomach, aged 57 years. Mr. Ratcliife has been ailing for some time but only five weeks ago was compelled to give up his work. Since then, life haa been slowly ebbing away. Deceased was born in England and came to Racine in 1874. He has resided here the greater part of the time hince, with the exception of some time spent in Rockford, Ill.. Mr, Ratcliffe was employed by the S. Freeman and Sons Maufacturing company and was a man highly respected by his associates. He was a devoted husband and kind and loving father and a man who will be greatly missed in the community. A widow and two sons survive. Funeral services will be held from his late home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
