Roy Cook Died Friday Morning

Roy W. Cook, 31 years of age, died at his home, 108 North Marshall street, early Friday morning, death following an illness of several months, his condition having been serious for the past six weeks. He was formerly a member of the United States army, and during the war served in Rainbow Division. Mr. Cook had been a resident of this city of the past four years, conducting a barber shop at 418 North Main street. He was well known in the city and had a large number of friends.
The deceased is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss May Lilly Beeker, three sisters, Mrs. J. C. Troutman, Mrs. J. C. Shands and Miss Blanche Cook, all of Kannapolis and eight brothers, R. C. Cook of this city, P. L. Cook of Kannapolis; Mannus Cook, of Concord; Robert Cook, of Concord; Clarence Cook of Mt. Pleasant; Lester Cook, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Clyde Cook of Salisbury; Conley Cook, of United States Marine Corps.
The funeral will be conducted from the home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon by Rev. D. H. Wilcox and Dr. H. A. Brown, interment following in Salem cemetery.
Pall bearers will be D. M. Elliott, W. A. Harris, G. G. Show, W. A. Brewer, Alonzo Bagby, A. C. Chaplin.
