Everyone and their parents were born in Indiana, except Gilbert's father in Oho and Nellie's father in Pennsylvania. Gilbert and Nellie were married 19 years and she had birthed 4 children by 1900, all alive.

NEW WILMINGTON - Mrs. Elda Swindler, 84, of 227 N. Market St. died at 1:45 am. today in Overlook Medical Clinic after a two-month illness. She was born in Otterbein, Ind. on Jan. 11, 1889 to the late Gilbert and Mildred Brown McKinney. Mrs. Swindler was a member of New Wilmington United Presbyterian Church and had resided in New Wilmington since 1919. She was married on Sept. 12, 1914 to Dr. James A. Swindler who died on Feb. 28, 1955. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Riley (Lowenne) Patton of Canton, Maine, Mrs. Matthew (Jean) Hosie of Rochester, Pa., a sister, Mrs. Erma Weigel of Otterbein, lnd.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son Gilbert on Feb. 17, 1952. Friends will be received at the E. Gailey Sharp Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home conducted by Dr. William Philips of the chorch. The body will be taken to the Johnston Funeral Home in Otterbein, lnd. where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and a service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Burial will follow in Pond Grove Cemetery in Indiana.
