1. Census in 1880 in Kanawha District, Braxton, WV, USA. 2 The 1880 census recorded Isaac F. Fisher, farmer, 51, living with wife Mary J., 38; and nephew Sampson Fisher, works on farm, 13. Isaac and Mary were born in Virginia and Sampson in West Virginia, which until 1863 was part of Virginia.
3 census pages later is his brother: Henry M. Fisher, farm laborer, 35, living with wife Sabina, 29; William H., 12; Sallie, 10; Franklin, 8; Charlie, 6; Samuel, 4; Thomas, 2; Mary J., born Oct 1879; and Henry's mother Mariah Fisher, 70. Mariah was born in Virginia, as were Henry and Sabina. Their children were born in West Virginia, which until 1863 was part of Virginia.
