Cole, 81, of 8919 Park Road, Charlotte, NC, Sunday, 1997, at Carolinas Medical Center. She was born June 3, 1916 in Ft. Slocum, NY, daughter of the late Lloyd A. Kefauver and Christine Russell Kefauver.
Mrs. Cole was the wife of the late Colonel Glenn Cole, U.S. Army, Retired. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Russell Sage College, Troy, NY in 1938. A longtime resident of Charleston, SC, Mrs. Cole had resided in Charlotte since 1989.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 1997, in the Southminster Retirement Community Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 25, 1997, National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Cole, Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Major Robert Cole, U.S. Army, Retired; and five grandsons, Glenn Cole, Ill of Charlotte, NC, Lieutenant Steven R. Cole of Ft. Riley, KS, Ensign Harold Cole Pensacola, FL and Douglas Cole and Lee Cole, both of Enterprise, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Southminster Retirement Community Library Fund, 8919 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
Harry and Bryant Company is serving the family of Mrs. Cole.

Jean married Col. Glenn Cole in Oct 1938 in , Frederick, MD. (Col. Glenn Cole was born on 28 Aug 1912 in Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, MO,³ died on 24 May 1988 in Charleston, Charleston, SC ³ and was buried on 27 May 1988 in Beaufort, Beaufort, SC ³.)
