John and Patric were born in Ireland. Also rooming in Feeney's home were Frederic Badenlach, 30, born in Germany; George W. Larner, 18; Abram Harbine, 41, merchant, with his wife Catherine, 28, and their children.

2. Census in 1860 in Bern Twp., Berks, PA. ⁶ John Becher, age 72, laborer, is living with wife Elizabeth, 70; and daughter Hannah, 28. His real estate is worth $0 and his possessions $70. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office is Reading.
Next door John's daughter is repeated: Hannah, 27, with her husband, John O'Conner, laborer, 38; Edward, 7; and Kitty Ann, 4 months old. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania except John in Ireland.
Neither man owned land, there is no land value listed. John Beecher's personal estate was $70 and John O'Conner's $80.

4. Census in 1880 in West Leesport, Berks, PA, United States. ⁸ The 1880 census recorded John Conner, repairman on railroad, 65, living with wife Hannah, 38. He and his parents were born in Ireland. She and her parents were born in Pennsylvania. The "Sick" column is checked for John.

5. Obituary: Reading Eagle: obituary of John O. Conner on 11 May 1888 in Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA. ¹ John O. Conner died at Leesport of paralysis, aged 80 years. Deceased was well known and leaves 2 children. The remains will be removed to this city and the funeral will take place from the residence of his son-in-law, Henry Prutzman, 714 1/2 North 8th, on Monday afternoon.

John married Hannah Matilda Beecher, daughter of John Beecher Jr. and Catharine Eilzabeth Bernheisel.
