She attended Dothan High School and was actively involved in the Latin Club and as a tenorette with the Dothan High School marching band. Following graduation from Dothan High School she married her high school sweetheart, Johnny Culpepper, her "gentle giant" of a man, with whom she raised three daughters. She was a past president of the Women In The Church, taught Sunday school for many years, led and hosted bible studies for the "night circle" women's bible study for many years and was a member of the Chapel Sunday School class for the last 30 plus years. She also served in the Dothan Service League for five years. Her dedication to family and devotion to God's word has been gracefully shown over the past 1½ years when she was first diagnosed with cancer. She has touched lives both locally and internationally with her dedication to sharing God's work through missions. Her most recent mission trip was to Vancouver, Canada. All who met her have been touched by her graceful testimony of faith. Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Elmer N. 2. Newspaper: Dothan-Eagle, 9 May 2010, Dothan, Houston, AL. 3 There are those who learned about life and death from their mothers. Linda Pollan Culpepper was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer more than five years ago. She faced her illness with courage and even overcame her cancer for a while, her daughter Heather Culpepper-Beeker wrote. After the cancer returned, Linda Culpepper was hospitalized at the same hospital where her fourth grandchild was being born. She was wheeled over to hold the newest member of her family. She died less than a month later. "While some bowl, garden or paint, my mother loved the word of God," Culpepper-Beeker said. "This gave her strength to make it through day-to-day struggles of raising a family but mostly through the greatest battle of her life … She maintained a peace that surpassed anyone's understanding." Her mother's example left her daughter to wonder how she could spend her time complaining of everyday frustrations. She encourages others to value their time with their own mothers. "She has been my role model in how I want to live my life and raise my own family, and above all, worship my Lord," Culpepper-Beeker said.
Linda married Johnny Culpepper on 29 Aug 1964 in Dothan, Houston, AL. (Johnny Culpepper was born on 7 Oct 1944 4 and was buried in Midland City: Sunset Memorial Park, Houston, AL 4.)
