1. Newspaper: Shenandoah Evening Herald, 9 Apr 1931, Shenandoah, Schuylkill, PA. 1 WEDDED IN ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH, GIRARDVILLE Miss Mary Kenney Became the Bride of Francis Colihan. One of the season's prettiest weddings took place in St. Joseph's church, Girardville, Monday morning, when Miss Mary Kenney became the bride of Francis Colihan. The ceremony took place at nine o'clock and was performed by the Rev. Joseph Kane, The ceremony was performed before one of the largest crowds ever to witness a wedding in the Girardville church. Miss Kenney is the daughter of Mr. Mrs. John Kenney, of Beech street, and is well known in and about Girardville. The bridegroom, Francis Colihan, is the son of William Colihan, of Mahanoy Plane. Both enjoy a large circle of friends. The bride was attended by Miss Helen Cox, of Girardville, while the bridegroom's interests were cared for by George Workman, also of Girardville. After the ceremony the bridal party returned to the home of the bride where a delicious wedding breakfast was served and a reception given the couple by their friends and relatives. After the reception the bridal party left for an extended tour of New York State. Among out-of-town people who attended the wedding and reception were: Mrs. Harry Lawrence, Mrs. Joseph Miller, and Miss Kathryn Kenney, of New York. Mrs. Mary Burke, Mrs. Michael Mutler, and Miss Margaret Collins, Philadelphia. Mrs. John Casey, of William Colihan, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Kelly and Miss Mary Kerbe, of Mahanoy Plane.

3. Obituary: Pottsville Republican on 10 Jun 1957 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. 5 Francis X. Collihan, of High St., Mahanoy. Plane, died Saturday at 9:50 p.m. in his home after a short illness. Born in Mahanoy Plane, Mr. Collihan was a son of the late William and Catherine Lucid Collihan. He was educated in the borough schools and was a member of Holy Rosary Church and Holy Name Society. He was last employed as a clerk for the Reading Company. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Kenney of Girardville; three daughters: Rosemary, wife of Joseph Rizzardi, and Catherine, wife of William J. Walsh, both of Girardville and Margaret, wife of John Sedor, at home; also five grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday morning from his late residence. Mass will be celebrated in Holy Rosary Church, Mahanoy Plane. Interment will be made in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Frackville. Thomas J. Wright, Mahanoy Plane, is in charge of arrangements.

Collihan, of High street, Mahanoy Plane, died Saturday evening at his home at 9:50 o'clock, after a short illness. A life-long resident of Mahanoy Plane, he was a son of the late William and Catherine (Lucid) Collihan. He was educated in the Gilberton Borough schools. He was employed as a clerk for the Reading Company before his retirement. He was a member of the Holy Rosary R. C. Church and the Holy Name Society of that parish. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Kenney, of Girardville; three daughters, Rosemary, wife of Joseph F. Rizzardi, Girardville; Catherine, wife of William J. Walsh, of Girardville; Margaret, wife of John Sedor, at home; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday. Thomas J. Wright, Funeral Director, has charge.
