Jack Ferrante Jr. in a single ring ceremony performed by the Rev. John J. McDonald at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Saturday morning. The bride is the daughter, of Mrs. Robert V. Grantham New Mexico and Mr. John R. Avery of Belleville, Ill., and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Margaret Ferrante of Lambertville, N.J., and Mr. Jack Ferrante, Hopewell, N.J.
The altar arrangements were of white gladioli blooms and blush pink chrysanthemums.
Given in marriage by Mr. Harroll Colson, the bride chose for her wedding a waltz length gown of ice white chantilly lace. Scallops etched the rounded decolletage, and the long lace sleeves ended in petal points. A sculptured bodice was set deeply in points to a bouffant lace skirt, and scallops edged the entire hemline. Finely pleated tulle and pearlized orange blossoms held in place the bride's shoulder length veil of silk illusion in circular tiers. Her jewelry was a teardrop pearl in a setting of white gold, gift of the bridegroom's mother.
The bride's classic cascade bouquet was of blush pink Jaffie orchids with stephanotis accented by a blush pink satin ribbon and Swiss braid.
Miss Martha Louise Sanchez attended the bride as maid of honor. She was attired in a dress of pink embroidered silk organza over a petticoat of matching taffeta. The fitted bodice was topped with a high front neckline scooping down in the back. and extended into large puffed sleeves.
The pleated bouffant skirt was scalloped at the hemline, and the waist was fitted with cummerbund. The matching headband was of gathered net, and the dress was complemented by white gloves a and clear plastic shoes. A tiny single strand of pearls, gift of the bride, accented the ensemble, and the maid of honor carried a styled classic bouquet of white feathered chrysanthemums.
2nd Lt. John Francis Belton of Pittsburgh, Pa. attended the bridegroom as best man. The mother of the bridegroom chose for the wedding a white silk dress accented by a corsage of pink Elfie roses. Mrs. John W. Jordan, organist, played the wedding music.
A reception was held in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Parlor after the ceremony. The bride's table featured the bouquets of the bride and the maid of honor with two champagne glasses decorated with white satin ribbons, with a sprig of lily of the valley attached to the bride's glass. The two-tiered white wedding cake was decorated with pink sugärspun roses, sugarspun lily of the valley and silver dragees.
Members of the house party were Mrs. Elkhart Moehrig and Miss Alyce Dyer. Mrs. Marion A. Tuttle attended the bride's book. The couple will make their home in Sherman or Denison, Tex. until Sept. 5, 1958.
The bride attended the Decatur High School, Decatur, Ill. prior to completing her high school course at the W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Tex. She also attended Victoria College for two years, and was one of the Saberettes at that college. She was elected the Outstanding Girl of the "Red Peppers" pep squad at Decatur High the first year the group had an Outstanding Girl election.
The bridegroom attended Lambertville High School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he was a member of Sigma Chi, serving the fraternity successively as its secretary and vice president. He is currently pilot and first lieutenant in the Air Force, stationed at Perrin Air Force Base.
Out of town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Lee of Alice, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Forsythe of Corpus Christi and Mr. Tom Margagliano of Enid, Okla.
REHEARSAL DINNER for the couple and the bridal party was held at Fanning's after the wedding rehearsal. The dinner table was centered with an arrangement of pink gladioli blooms, white asters and blush pink pom pon chrysanthemums.
