Son of the late Dr. Robert L. and Anna (Woll) Bucher, Bob and his family moved from Philadelphia to a farm in Pineville when he was 6 years old and spent most of the rest of his life in Wrightstown Township, PA. Bob was a 1945 graduate of Doylestown High School, where he met Mary Sheaffer. Voted Best Couple by their Senior Class, Mary and Bob were married in 1950 and were very much in love until Mary's death in 2002. Bob played football in high school and college and enjoyed golf, fishing, and being active outdoors. He served for 18 months in the US Army at the end of World War II, then graduated from Bucknell University and Thomas Jefferson Medical College. He completed his internship at The Mercer Hospital in Trenton, NJ and practiced Family Medicine in his home community until the age of 70. Bob started his medical practice in Wycombe in 1952. He cared deeply for his patients and was well respected by them and his peers. He later partnered with Dr. Hugh Pershing in a joint practice in Penns Park. He was on staff at Doylestown Hospital. In 2014, Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and had been a resident of the Sunrise Senior Living facility in Yardley since his diagnosis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, his sisters: Virginia, Nancy, Shirley and Sally, and his son Robert S. Bucher. He is survived by his children: Brad and his wife Alexandria of Doylestown, Bryon and his wife Anne of Morrisville, and his daughter-in-law Patricia Bucher of Quakertown. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and his sister Yvonne Linn (Mason) of Mount Pocono. Burial services for Bob will be private. Bob and Mary were members of the Wycombe Baptist Church; in lieu of flowers, the family wishes that contributions be made to the church on his behalf.
