William W. Powell, who conducted a chicken and egg business from his home at 1018 Engle st., until he became ill a year ago, died today. He was 72.
Born in Crisfield, Md., he was a resident oi Chester for 37 years and before that lived on the Eastern Shore, Md. He was a member of the Order of Eagles, Chester Nest 159.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; two sons, William W. Jr., at home, and Allison H. of Sun Village; three daughters, Mrs. Maurice Henderson of Pocomoke City, Md.; Mrs. Nathaniel Hunter of Morton, and Mrs. Charles Stewart, Highland Gardens, and 10 'grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Melvrn I. Minshall funeral home, 11th and Keriin streets. Friends may call Sunday evening. Burial will be in Lawn Croft cemetery.
