Mrs. Carrie Mae Young, 85, died at 10:15 a.m. yesterday in the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Beacher, 856 West Ave., Springfield, with whom she made her home, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Drums, July 2, 1886, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Rittenhouse Reisenweaver, and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Drums, and the Women's Society of Christian Service of that congregation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson, in 1957, and a son, Edward Horn.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Beacher, Springfield; Mrs. William (Marguerite) Hooven, Flemington; Mrs. Jarrett (Eleanore) Campbell, Chesapeake, Va.; and Mrs. Romaine Martin, West Chester; 11 grandchildren, eight great grand children, three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Williams, this city; Mrs. Blanche Barnhart, Drums; and Mrs. Alger (Viola) Mowery, Sybertsville; and a brother, Clarence Reisenweaver, Myerstown.
The funeral will be held from the Bachman and Rosenstock Funeral Home, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Wayne Gregory, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Drums Methodist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
